Jamie O'Rourke

Jamie O'Rourke is a British actor based in Hereford on the border between Wales and England. With a keen interest in the horror and sci-fi genres, Jamie's first on screen experience was as supporting lead Tony in the BFI short film "The Vawn", 2001. He later returned to the screen in 2010 for zombie feature "Devil's Playground", starring along side Craig Conway and Myanna Buring. After a short hiatus Jamie delved deeper into acting appearing as side characters in shows such as the ITV's "Love, Lies and Records" and BBC1's "Casualty", ultimately landing supporting roles in The Ritual (2017) and Transformers 5 (2017)

Biography

Since 2016, Jamie has been training under LARCA Management, Cardiff, with acting coach Ross O'Hennessy (Game of Thrones) and has attended various acting courses, workshops and masterclasses with tutors such as Nina Gold Casting and Stagefight UK. This has enable his to worked on an array of productions of various sizes from short films and television to Hollywood blockbusters.

His experience in the British Army and training in Firearms for Film and TV have allowed him to authentically portray firearms roles such as an ISIS solider in, BAFTA winner, Peter Kosminski's "The State" for Channel 4 and tactical armed response in the popular BBC dramas "Casualty" and "Collateral". Ultimately fulfilling a childhood dream, landing him the role of one of the soldiers in the final epic battle of Michael Bay's "Transformers 5: The Last Knight" (2017).

In 2017 Jamie doubled for Sam Troughton in David Bruckner's cult cinematic horror "The Ritual" and has since worked closely with the Rural Media Company and the British Film Institute (BFI) on their Film Academy student programme with successful films, "Simon Say's" and "Super", being shown at the Borderlines Film Festival 2018. In 2018, Jamie played the part of Pineapple Chuck in Alana Volavola's award winning short "Delicious Love". Further credits include the feature films The Dark Kingdom (2018) and Jagame Thandhiram (2021).

Due to the role involving the use of real firearms, explosives and elaborate pyrotechnic set pieces, professionalism, safety and the ability to carry out direction was paramount.
